After a very long journey via Abetifi and the ferry crossing on Lake Volta, we reached Donkorkrom on Saturday. We have so far enjoyed fantastic hospitality, wonderful food such as yam, plantain, banku and red-red, a local sauce, a tour of the mango farm at Abetifi, and an exciting church service at Donkorkrom Presbyterian Church. The weather has been very tropical with temperatures of over 30 degrees and very high humidity. It rains every day with an intensity we rarely see in Scotland - convectional thunderstorms appear every afternoon.
Today we are in Donkorkrom Agricultural Senior High School and have handed over our pupils' diaries and letters to senior pupils. They have promised to write back. Hopefully you will be able to access the links we have posted and see some of this.
We are all well and enjoying ourselves. I has been really good to start to get to know some of the pupils. As we write this, we are in the ICT lab about to post some images.
We hope that things are going well in Hamilton Grammar and will post more information soon.
